| Veteran agent Terry Alvarez began her love affair with real
estate as a secretary in the 60's, working for Kerrick, Cummings and Davies in
Oxnard. She married one of the
agents, got her license, and the two opened their own office. Her husband handled commercial sales
and property management, and Terry sold residential properties.
Terry was born in Northern California and has lived in
Chico, San Diego, Las Vegas and Kona, Hawaii. However, she has been in Ventura
County most of her life. She took
her AA in Business Administration, and is now retired from the Department of
Veteran's Affairs where she was an Administrative Officer.
While raising her six children, Terry was very active at
Santa Clara Church in Oxnard. She belonged to the Altar Society, chaired school
carnivals, and was involved in softball, swimming, and soccer. She was also
busy with the Oxnard Jr. Miss Program through the Oxnard Noontime Lions
Club. All of her children are now
grown and are professionals in their field.
Since the 80's, Terry has taken the real estate exam at
least four times and passed every time, including the RE exam in Nevada. Real
estate forms and conditions have changed drastically, she notes. Says Terry, “I
enjoy taking classes and taking tests!” She is working on her Graduate Realtor
Institute designation.
Terry is thrilled to finally be able to fulfill her dream to
work as a Realtor full time. Her areas of expertise are residential properties
in Oxnard and Camarillo. It’s
evident that Terry has a "Can Do" philosophy. She enjoys a variety of hobbies
including gardening, water skiing, camping and traveling. She also speaks Spanish. |
